While cocoa can now be enjoyed in an endless array of products around the world, it’s delicacy has a history that’s equally rich and compelling.
Cocoa is the plant from which chocolate is produced. Initially, the cocoa beans are a milky white color. If you ate them immediately, they would taste very bitter. Bitter chocolate is produced by compressing roasted cocoa kernels (seeds) between hot rollers.

Cocoa powder is made by squeezing the fat (cocoa butter) from bitter chocolate and powdering the leftover material. Sweet chocolate is produced by incorporating sugar and vanilla to bitter chocolate. White chocolate comprises of sugar, cocoa butter, and milk solids.

There are many products that are made from cocoa beans and mostly all of them are delicious.
